Uniforms
School uniforms are an important part of the personality of Holy Family School, and the student Uniform Code is strictly adhered to.
Our uniforms are sold exclusively at the Nazareth Army-Navy store, 68 S. Main Street, Nazareth, PA 18064, which has provided a separate price list for boys and girls for all the uniform items they sell.
As a courtesy to our families and students, HFS also provides a Uniform Closet in the school, where gently-used items are stored. Registered families of HFS may take advantage of these donated items, all of which are free. We simply ask that when your own children outgrow their school uniforms, you launder them and bring them in to replace the ones you have taken. Please contact Mrs. Lori Rizzotto at lori.rizzotto@gmail.com or Mrs. Nina Erdie at Nina.erdie@gmail.com for your uniform needs.
Holy Family School enforces a strict uniform code policy. All students in grades K-8 wear a school uniform every day. This promotes school pride and uniformity among students. All uniforms, outer clothing, and school items should be labeled with your child’s last name in case of loss. All shirts must be kept clean and must be tucked into kilts, skorts, shorts, or pants in grades K-8.
Any violation of this uniform code in grades 3-8 will result in a detention. Exemptions will be granted for medical reasons only with a physician’s note

Dress Down Day Policy
The administration reserves the right to amend and make final decisions on all clothing worn on
dress down days.
All dress down day clothes must be modest and appropriate for a Catholic school. If you question the outfit, do not wear it. Students are not allowed to dress down on mass days. For grades K-3, if a dress down day falls on a student’s gym day, they may dress down but need to wear sneakers. School dress down rules apply for all school dances.
Failure to comply with the dress down policy will result in an immediate phone call to the parent. Parents will need to bring in the regular school uniform, and the student will not be allowed to dress down that day. If a second infraction occurs, the student will not be allowed to dress down the rest of the school year.
Dress Down Day Policy:
- pants, shorts, or skirts must be worn at the waist
- shorts or dresses must be 2 inches above the knee or longer
- holes in clothing (accidental or purposeful) – not allowed
- inappropriate slogans, comments, or words on clothing – not allowed
- all tops/shirts must have a sleeve covering the shoulder (minimum of a cap sleeve allowed)
- low cut, revealing, or midriff shirts – not allowed
- pants must be loose fitting – any tight fitting pants are not allowed
- tights/leggings or similar leg wear are only allowed when worn with a dress/top that is 2 inches
above the knee or longer
- a dress with less than a cap sleeve must be worn with a sweater or jacket all day
- flip flops or open back sandals – not allowed
- jewelry and make up rules from the regular school uniform policy apply
DRESS DOWN DAY PASSES
All passes must be pre-approved and initialed by the homeroom teacher at least one day before
use. Student may not use dress down passes on the following days: Wacky Olympics, Race for Education, group/club picture day, Grandparents Day, Mission Carnival, Field Day, the last day of school, and for any mass days throughout the year. On May Crowning and individual picture day children may dress up (no jeans or sneakers) and a dress down pass is not needed.
SPECIAL T-SHIRT DAYS
When students participate in special t-shirt days (Race for Education, school play, etc.) the following apply.
