Welcome to Computer Class!

Class Information

Note:  One of the most important skills the Kindergarten students will learn this year is how to log onto the computer with their User Name & Password. It will be beneficial for them to practice typing their names, so they can locate the letters on their keyboard. The students who have the most trouble learning how to log on are students who have an "l" or an "i" in their name because they mix them up.

The students in Kindergarten are learning how to log on and off the computers this quarter.  It is probably the hardest thing they will learn all year.  You can help them by having them practice typing their UN & PW information on Word.   Thank you for your help.

Please remember to use the links I provided if you want to practice using the keyboard.

It is important for you to practice logging on with your user name and password, so you remember how to do it when you start computer classes.  You can practice by typing it the on a Word document and having your parent/guardian check to make sure you typed everything correctly.

UN: first two letters of your first name, followed by your last name

PW: last name (if you do not have seven characters in your last name, you need to add zeros).

Fourth Grade:

Fourth Grade will continue working on their typing skills as well as enhance their knowledge of the Microsoft Office (Word/Powerpoint) to prepare them for when they recieve their Google Accounts next year.

Students in Grades 5-8 will be using Google Drive to complete some assignments.  Google Drive is a great way for students to work on group projects because it allows them to collaborate from their own homes.  It is also helpful for students who have been absent or need more time to complete assignments.

FYI: The students will be bringing home a Google permission form that must be signed and returned to school. Please keep the information provided for future reference.

8th Grade will have the best year of technology that they have had at HFS! This includes creating their own restaurants and amusement parks, as well as making sure they understand everything about the Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets) to get them ready to go for high school!
